Status Adder and Twitter

If you use Twitter frequently like most active uses, it would behoove you to get a Twitter status updater. These things make your life a breeze and makes your Twittering more enjoyable! Governor Map

Right above the new posts a map of the races has been added, albeit in poor quality. I'm working on getting a pop out and higher quality version that's more appealing, but this will have to do.

Virgina and New Jersey are both coloured green. When frequent polling becomes available, the states will be coloured according to the polls. A darker blue indicates a state is more heavily favouring the Democrats, a dark red the Republicans. Although likely not present in the 2009 cycle but definitely possible in the 2010 cycle, is an independent. In that event than an Independent is a strong candidate(such as the Vermont Senate or Maine Governorship in previous elections), it will either skew yellow or green.

The two Governor elections this year are New Jersey and Virginia, which both currently have Democratic governors.

Future Elections

I'm back after a small hiatus, to focus more on the two things I'm most passionate about: politics and science. I'll be focusing on the 2009 and 2010 election cycles, with additions of new software, and news from the scientific world.

Obama has passed the 270 electoral vote threshold, and is now to next president of the United States!

Virginia, New Mexico, and Colorado are now in Obama's margin, adding 27 more electoral votes. Obama's leads in the major cities and suburbs of Virginia and Colorado are unlikely to be overtopped by other exurbs and rural areas. Texas and Mississippi are now in McCain's electoral vote chest.

Obama has won Ohio. If he holds all of the Kerry states, loses all the swing states, he will still win the White House. Indiana and Virginia are on the verge of flipping onto Obama's side. The rural vote is mostly in, and the relibably Democratic cities are still voting.
